LARS NYSOM IS CLIMATE NEUTRAL CERTIFIED
From the beginning, our mission has always been to bring beauty into the small everyday moments, encounters, life- whether that is through carefully thought-out design or making an impact in this world. How did we become climate neutral certified?
MEASURE:
Firstly, we measured our CO² emissions from raw materials, production, transportation, and packaging. The exploitation of raw materials has significant environmental impact which is why we strongly believe in working towards lowering emissions and helping the planet by developing more sustainable operations. Our products are designed with re-usability in mind. This is our share on counteracting single-use consumerism that results in unnecessary waste.
REUSE AND REDUCE:
Did you know it can take up to 1,000 years for plastic to degrade naturally? We take pride in our carefully crafted products, as well as the concepts of reusing and reducing. To minimize our carbon footprint, we focus on creating reusable products with plastic-free packaging. Having a reusable water bottle alone can save so much plastic. According to National Geographic:
- Half of all plastic ever made has been produced in the last 15 years.
- Every year, 8 million tons of plastic waste ends up in our oceans.
- Most plastics are not biodegradable. So what does this mean? They can break down into microplastics, which can end up all over because of wind, ultimately degrading soils and spreading plastic pollution.
Because the average human drinks the equivalent of 4 plastic bottles a day, it is the smarter choice to switch to a reusable bottle. Just by switching, you would be cutting and saving up to 1,460 plastic bottles per year.
OFFSET:
With every company, there are of course unavoidable emissions. Together with ClimatePartner we support projects to offset our emissions which came to equal 85,156 kg in the second quarter of 2021, and give back to the planet.
PROJECTS WE SUPPORT:
Being certified by @climatepartner means taking action and supporting projects to offset our CO² emissions. So let us tell you more about the climate projects we support to offset our residual carbon footprint.

We support regional project afforestation-which is the process of introducing trees to areas previously not covered-in Germany. Climate change has impacted forests in many ways, by causing forest fires, or limiting forest productivity from a weakened ambiance. Once forests are weakened, they are also more likely to be affected by storms in a negative way, causing economic distress as well. Germany is one of the most densely forested countries in Europe, which is why we are proud to support this regional project in order to protect its natural wildlife and stimulate agricultural development.
We also proudly support a worldwide project organized to aid in ocean cleanups. We strongly agree with the approach taken by the Plastic Bank, which is to improve the lives of those mostly affected while putting an end to ocean plastic further worsening the quality of ocean water. The project promotes the ideology of recycling plastic into "Social-Plastic", which can supply as raw material for future packaging.
